With an extensive background in Podiatric foot and ankle surgery, The Foot Spot is happy to see patients needing surgery or opinions for minor or major reasons. From ingrown toenails, warts, bunions, neuromas or hammer toes – The Foot Spot will have the answer you need.
Podiatric Surgery is a sub specialty of Podiatry that deals specifically with orthopaedic surgery of the foot and ankle. Podiatrists undergo specialized University and further residency training programs – taking over 12 years to complete their qualification of Surgical Fellowship through the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons (ACPS). Surgical Fellowships may also be obtained from the University of Western Australia.
At The Foot Spot – Podiatric Medical Center we have a long history and association with the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons. Paul Bowles was a Surgical Registrar with the College for 7 years prior to taking a hiatus from his Fellowship. Up until recently Paul still taught undergraduate surgery at The University of Western Sydney Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine Program. The Foot Spot may also choose to refer our patients for surgery to either a Podiatric or Orthopaedic Surgeon, all of which are located locally.
Many minor surgical procedures such as ingrown toenails and warts can be completed at The Foot Spot under local anaesthesia. More complicated surgical procedures such as bone surgery, bunions, hammer toes, fracture fixation etc… must be referred to a Podiatric or Orthopaedic Surgeon to be performed in a operating theater setting.
At The Foot Spot – we are happy to provide opinions and reports prior to or after any foot and ankle surgery.
